After the last few months of great matches seen on TV, we can finally say that those days are long gone when, in order to be able to see the greatest players in the world play, we had to rely only on YouTube and clips found here and there on the internet .
In fact, one of the best news in the padel world this year is certainly the live TV broadcasts: hours and hours of padel at the highest levels comfortably from the sofa of our home.
So, in addition to being pleasant, it is a fundamental tool for growing in this sport.
Maybe like us you have always dreamed of being able to have a filming service for your matches too and perhaps you have told yourself that you should first reach the levels of the World Padel Tour to enjoy it.
But no, we pleasantly discovered that there are already those who have thought of finding a solution even for die-hard enthusiasts like us.
In fact, there is a company, Eyes On , which has created a professional video recording system which, in addition to filming your game, allows you to extrapolate a lot of information about your game.
But let’s go in order…
We spoke with Stefano Marcon and Mario Sgro , founders of EyesOn and we asked them to tell us about their project.
Their venture began at the beginning of this last decade, with the aim of exploiting artificial intelligence at the service of tennis.
There are only two companies in the world with a software system of this type, both of which operate in tennis but, thanks to their intuition which led them to test padel as early as 2016, to date they are the only ones to have developed this system also in our beloved sport.
Without getting too technical, it is a well-orchestrated system of algorithms connected to camera sensors that communicates through artificial intelligence with a computer processing in real time.
And it really does a lot of things, in addition to the one that many will surely like, the famous hawk function that calls out balls that touch the grate or glass and serve in real time .
Let’s see below some goodies that really entice us:
– the hawk to understand if the ball is “out”
– Tactical evaluation of the team
– Instant reply for video analysis of the shot
– Selectable video clips that the player can share on social networks
– Video clip comparison or the possibility of comparing one’s shot with that of the master, himself and a player taken as a reference
– Match indexed in real time , where the player can review the moments that interest him through a match index
– Where and type of error . In practice, in addition to the map of errors, players can review the actions where they made mistakes by clicking on the area where the errors were made and the type of shot.
Are you daydreaming too?
It doesn’t end here!!
The system allows each registered user to extrapolate an incredible series of data and information regarding their game , for example:
– Map of errors : a graphical indication that highlights in which area of the pitch the team makes the most errors and of what type
– Map of winners : a graphical indication that highlights in which area of the pitch the team performs best in generating winners. It also reports what shot they are generated with.
– Service : a graphic indication of where the serves are directed with evidence of aces, first, second and double faults
– Impact map : a graphic indication of where the team impacts the ball and therefore highlights which side of the opponent’s field the team plays the most on.
The user also has the possibility to register in different clubs that use the same system .
At the moment this product is present in only one club (the increasingly famous Italian Padel in Brescia) and we know that many other clubs are in negotiations.
Let’s admit that we are writing this post with even slightly selfish purposes, to make this fantastic opportunity known as much as possible because we can’t wait to try it!!!
And you?
Happy padel everyone
