We spoke with Mario Sgro, co-founder of the company, to learn more about the project.<\/h5>\n\n

If you\u2019re reading this, you\u2019re likely a tennis or padel enthusiast\u2014even if you\u2019re not a professional player.<\/p>\n\n

Today, an innovative technology is transforming racket sports at every level, from professionals to amateur players. Its name? Eyes On. <\/p>\n\n

<\/p>\n\n

But how does it work?<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n

We asked Mario Sgro, an expert in computer systems, who together with Stefano Marcon, CEO of the company, developed the project<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n

One day, Stefano told me he couldn\u2019t find any tool to track his son\u2019s progress and performance after he started playing tennis.<\/em><\/p>\n\n

How is it possible that, with all the technology available today, nothing like this exists?<\/em><\/p>\n\n

We then worked through the idea together and, after careful analysis, realized it was possible to create an affordable and user-friendly product for a wide audience.<\/em><\/p>\n\n

Our target isn\u2019t major international tournaments or professional players, but rather local clubs\u2014where people play on weekends and families bring their kids to train.<\/em><\/p>\n\n

Once the feasibility was understood, we had to find a research institution to support us in our project and we found it in Fondazione Bruno Kessler in Trento.<\/em><\/p>\n\n

Thanks to this collaboration, we developed AI algorithms designed for image analysis.<\/em><\/p>\n\n

This allowed us to track ball trajectory, spin, and player movement automatically and in real time.<\/em><\/p>\n\n

In 2016, a start-up was founded, leading to collaborations with the Italian Tennis and Padel Federation. Today, our systems are already installed in several clubs.<\/em><\/p>\n\n

It\u2019s easy to imagine this technology being applied to other sports as well.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

That\u2019s right. We have also focused on padel, developing a similar solution for this fast-growing sport.<\/em><\/p>\n\n

Eyes On promises to revolutionize sport not only as a teaching tool for teachers and students, but also as a virtual coach that tracks progress and identifies areas for improvement.<\/em><\/p>\n\n
